Detail of the Basse-Yutz Flagons, Iron Age, c400 BC. Two bronze flagons were found in 1927, at Basse-Yutz, France. They are two of the finest examples of Early Celtic or Early La Tène Art from anywhere in Europe. The flagons were used for pouring wine, beer or mead at feasts. From the British Museum collection.
