Portrait of Tsar Feodor I of Russia, 17th century. The son of Ivan the Terrible, Feodor I (1557-1598) was Tsar of Russia from 1584 until his death. A simple, pious man, he left much of the affairs of government to his brother-in-law, Boris Godunov, who was de facto regent from c1585 and succeeded him as tsar. Found in the collection of the State Regional I Pozhalostin Art Museum, Ryazan, Russia.
