'Portrait of General Pyotr Chicherin', 1814. Pyotr Aleksandrovich Chicherin (1788-1849) commanded a regiment of dragoon's during the campaign against Napoleon's invasion of Russia. He later fought in the Russo-Turkish War of 1828-1829 and in Poland in 1831. In 1834 he was promoted to General of the Cavalry. Found in the collection of The Hermitage, St Petersburg.
