The altar, Temppeliaukio Church, Helsinki, Finland, 2011. The Lutheran Temppeliaukio (Temple Square) Church was built in 1968-1969. Designed by Timo and Tuomo Suomalainen, it is built into an excavation into the rock, with light admitted through a glazed dome. Because of its excellent acoustics, the church is often used as a concert venue.
