Born in 1803 one of the most famous Cuban poets. In 1823 he was a lawyer. He took part in the Soles de Bolivar complot. He composed Al Niagara, a famous masterpiece and published the first edition of his poetry work with the anthem The Outcast (El desterrado). He was condemned to death in 1831 and died in 1839.
