Domingo del Monte, Venezuelan born in 1804. Went to Cuba in 1810 and organised the first literary gathering in Matanzas, 1834 . He left unpublished a 'History of Fernandina Island' (Cuba) and defended the freedom of Cuba. The Academy of History published the'Centon epistolario de Domingo del Monte' (1923-1930).
