Joaquin Lorenzo Luaces; this great poet was born in Havana in 1826. Printed his famous book of poems in 1857; including the patriotic composition 'The Fall of the Misolongi (1856) his ode to 'Warsaw' (1863). Three days after winning with the ode 'The job' he died in November 1867.
