John Alden House, Duxbury, Massachusetts, c1940s. The property is of cultural significance due to the1858 poem 'The Courtship of Miles Standish', which was about the courtship of John Alden and Priscilla Mullins, and was written by Alden descendant Henry Wadsworth Longfellow. The John Alden House is a historic house museum which was purportedly home to John and Priscilla Alden. Alden was ship's cooper on the Mayflower who arrived in Plymouth in 1620 and later moved to Duxbury.
