Wellington Bombers in Formation, 1940. The Vickers Wellington was a British twin-engined, long range medium bomber designed in the mid-1930s by Vickers-Armstrongs' Chief Designer, Reginald Kirshaw Rex Pierson (1891–1948). It was widely used as a night bomber in the early years of World War II. From 'Our Air Force' published by Ward, Lock & Co., Ltd., 1940.
