Cairo, from the minaret of Citadel Mosque, 1936. The Great Mosque of Muhammad Ali Pasha or Alabaster Mosque is a mosque situated in the Citadel of Cairo in Egypt. It was commissioned by Muhammad Ali Pasha (1769–1849) between 1830 and 1848. From a private album of a passenger who undertook a cruise on the S.S. Arandora Star, which began 9th April, 1936.
