Constantine, Algeria, 1936. Constantine is the capital of Constantine Province in north-eastern Algeria. During the Roman period it was called Cirta and was renamed Constantina in honor of emperor Constantine the Great. From a private album of a passenger who undertook a cruise on the S.S. Arandora Star, which began 9th April, 1936.
