Sloppy Joe's Bar, Havana, Cuba, 1951. The world famous Sloppy Joe's welcomed tourists for over four decades, and offered over 80 cocktails in addition to the bar's own brand of 12 year old rum. During the 1940s and 1950s it was popular with American celebrities as well as tourists. The Cuban Revolution of 1959 saw the demise of the bar as the majority of their clientele was American. A fire in the 60s closed the bar for good. It reopened in 2013. Advertising on the back of the postcard says SLOPPY JOE'S BAR first port of call, out where the wet begins and HONESTY IS OUR POLICY, Don't fail to meet your friends at SLOPPY JOE'S.
