Grooming cattle in a cowshed, Claybury Hospital, Woodford Bridge, London, 1937. Claybury was a purpose-built home for 2,500 mentally ill people. The enormous hospital was centred around landscaped squares. It is an example of the Victorian idea of making a community for those who needed looking after.
