Portrait of Field Marshal Sir John Colborne, British soldier, 1821. In 1815 at the Battle of Waterloo Colonel Colbourne (1778-1863) commanded the 52nd Foot (Oxfordshire Light Infantry), who were instrumental in the rout of the French Imperial Guard, a pivotal moment in the battle.
