An interior view of a workshop in the Belgian Munition Works, also known as the Pelabon Works, showing workers, predominantly women, using lathes to create ammunition casings or other parts. During the First World War Belgian engineer Charles Pelabon established a munitions factory in Clevedon Road employing Belgian refugees to manufacture hand grenades and artillery shells.
