Hardwick Old Hall, Derbyshire, c2000s(?). General view of the Old Hall and the East Lodge from the roof of the New Hall. Hardwick Old Hall was the home of Bess of Hardwick, one of the wealthiest women in Elizabethan England. It stands beside the New Hall, which she had built in the 1590s.
