The Orangery, Wrest Park House and Gardens, Silsoe, Bedfordshire, 2011. Interior view of the Orangery looking out towards the garden with dappled sunlight filtering through the glass roof. The Orangery was designed by Thomas de Grey, 2nd Earl de Grey. Exotic fruit and plants were protected from the British winter inside the building. Wrest Park was built in 1834-1839, inspired by 18th-century French chateaux, and is set in over 90 acres of gardens.
