Interior detail in the antechamber, Kenwood House, Hampstead, London, c2000s(?). View of the door to the Library and the c1763-1767 plaster copy statue of Mercury. Kenwood House was remodelled by Robert Adam in the neoclassical style between 1764 and 1773 and was bequeathed to the nation by the brewing magnate, the first Earl of Iveagh, in 1928. It houses the Iveagh Bequest, the most important private collection of paintings ever given to the nation, containing works by Rembrandt and others.
