The Old Curiosity Shop near Lincoln's Inn Fields, London, c1860 (1911). Situated at 13 Portsmouth Street, Holborn, the Old Curiosity Shop dates from around 1567 and is the oldest shop in central London. It is thought to be the inspiration behind Charles Dickens' famous novel of the same name published in 1841. From London - North of the Thames, by Sir Walter Besant.
