'Garbha or Circutous Gurzat dance', c1910. Garba is a form of dance that originated in the state of Gujarat in India. Traditional garbas are performed around a lit lamp or statue of the Goddess Shakti. Traditionally, it is performed during the nine day Hindu festival Navaratri.
