'The Bund in Shanghai', c1910. The Bund is a waterfront area in central Shanghai. The area traditionally housed international settlements, banks, trading houses and the British and Russian consulates. On the right is a statue of Harry Smith Parkes (1828 - 1885), the first British Consul General in Shanghai.
