'Tippoo Sultan's Body Was Found Buried Beneath Those Of His Followers', 1908, (c1920). The death of Tipu Sultan (1750-1799) a ruler of the Kingdom of Mysore, a kingdom of southern India. Following Horatio Nelson’s victory at the Battle of the Nile in Egypt in 1798, three armies, one from Bombay, and two British marched into Mysore in 1799 and besieged the capital Srirangapatna in the Fourth Mysore War.
