'Mr. Hawkins, Q.C. & Dr. Kenealy Q.C.', 1874. Henry Hawkins, 1st Baron Brampton QC (1817-1907) and Edward Vaughan Hyde Kenealy QC (1819-1880), Irish barrister and writer. They were on opposing sides on the The Tichborne case, which was a legal cause célèbre that captivated Victorian England in the 1860s and 1870s. It concerned the claims of Thomas Castro AKA Arthur Orton and the Claimant (1834-1898), to be the missing heir to the Tichborne baronetcy. He failed to convince the courts and was convicted of perjury. From The London Sketch-book, illustration by Faustin Betbeder.
