'The 'Mars' and 'L'Hercule'', c1799. The capture of the French ship 'L'Hercule' by the British ship HMS 'Mars' off Brest in April 1798. The engagement, which occurred during the Royal Navy's blockade of Brest, became known as the Battle of the Raz de Sein.
