Sunrise, Megalithic circle, Avebury, Wiltshire, 20th century. Neolithic henge monument containing three stone circles, one of the best known prehistoric sites in Britain. Constructed in the 3rd millennium BC, it was most likely used for some form of ritual or ceremony.
