'William Russel Earl of Bedford', c1742. English politician who sat in the House of Commons from 1640 until 1641, fought in the Parliamentarian army and defected to the Royalists during the English Civil War. Also known for developing the Bloomsbury area of London. After Anthony van Dyck (1698-1780).
