Elephant made of Women, Inner Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic, Kandy, Sri Lanka, 20th century. 17th century image of elephant made of women in the inner temple of Sri Dalada Maligawa or the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic, a Buddhist temple in the city of Kandy, Sri Lanka. Since ancient times, the relic has played an important role in local politics as it is believed, whoever holds the relic holds the governance of the country.
