Fishing boat in Village of Hikkaduwa, on West Coast of Sri Lanka, 20th century. Fishing boat dug out from tree trunk with outrigger on coastal beach of Hikkaduwa, located in the Southern Province. Sri Lanka being an island in the Indian Ocean is ideal for fishing. Hikkaduwa was affected by the tsunami caused by the 2004 Indian Ocean earthquake.
