'Noli Me Tangere', 1523-1524, (c1934). On a road, in the shade of a tree, Christ reveals himself to Mary Magdalene , raising an arm. Noli me tangere, means 'don't touch me' or 'don't tread on me', and is the Latin version of words spoken, according to John 20:17, by Jesus to Mary Magdalene when she recognized him after his resurrection.
