'La Reina Maria De Inglaterra', (Mary Tudor, Queen of England), 1554, (c1934) The Queen sits in a crimson velvet chair, holding the red rose of Tudor in hand she has a tense and somewhat stiff attitude. Mary I (1516-558) was Queen of England and Ireland from July 1553 until her death. Her executions of Protestants led to the posthumous sobriquet 'Bloody Mary'. Oil on canvas.
