'Lodge Park', 1911. Lodge Park was built as a grandstand in the Sherborne Estate in Gloucestershire, England. A description from 1634 suggests the design was inspired by Inigo Jones' Banqueting House in Whitehall, London. Inigo Jones (1573 -1652) was the first significant English architect of Welsh ancestry in the early modern period, and the first to employ Vitruvian rules of proportion and symmetry in his buildings.
