'Shobdon Court, Hereford - The Lord Bateman', 1910. Shobdon Court is a grade II listed building in Shobdon, Herefordshire, England. Bought from Robert Chaplin in 1705 by Sir James Bateman, MP, financier, a director of the East India Company, Governor of the Bank of England (1705-7) and sub-Governor of the South Sea Company from 1711.
