The Sanctuary, Avebury, c3rd millennium BC, (c1990-2010). The Sanctuary on Overton Hill as it may have appeared in the final phase. Now part of the Avebury World Heritage Site. Reconstruction drawing. A Neolithic henge monument containing three stone circles, around the village of Avebury in Wiltshire, in southwest England. One of the best known prehistoric sites in Britain, constructed over several hundred years in the 3rd millennium BC.
