Abbot Wulfric's rotunda at St Augustine's Abbey, c12th century, (c1990-2010). Cutaway reconstruction drawing of Abbot Wulfric's rotunda, St Augustine's Benedictine Abbey, Canterbury, Kent. The abbey was founded in 598 and functioned as a monastery until its dissolution in 1538 during the English Reformation. The rotunda was built around 1050 to link the Church of St. Peter and Paul (the main church) with the Chapel of St. Mary.
