'Bulgaria. Black Clergy, monks of the Greek Orthodox Church, inhabit the monastery at medieval Tirnovo by the Yantra', c1920. The Transfiguration Monastery is situated in the Dervent gorge of the Yantra River, north of the city of Veliko Tarnovo, in central northern Bulgaria.
