Philip of Dreux (1158-1217) the Bishop of Beauvais capturing William LongespÚe, 3rd Earl of Salisbury (c1176-1226) at the Battle of Bouvines. The Battle of Bouvines took place on 27 July 1214, a battle which ended the 1202û1214 Anglo-French War. It confirmed the French crown's sovereignty over the Angevin lands of Brittany and Normandy.
