'Yersin', c1893. Alexandre Emile Jean Yersin (1863-1943), Swiss and naturalized French physician and bacteriologist. He discovered the bacillus responsible for the bubonic plague or pest, which was later named in his honour: Yersinia pestis. From the 2e collection [Felix Potin, c1893].
