2-653-932 - The Museum of East Asian Art/Heritage Images

A dark blue monochrome deep dish with carved frontally facing imperial five-clawed dragon design amid clouds in the centre chasing flaming pearl. The cavetto and the reverse have further carved imperial dragons above a false lappet border. The rim is slightly outturned. The piece is covered overall with a dark blue glaze of so-called 'sacrifical blue' colour. The base has a six-character mark of Jiajing in underglaze blue within a double circle and the piece is of the period.
