Jove, (Jupiter), detail of Pillar of the Boatmen of Paris, Romano-Celtic (Gallic), AD14-37. Reign of Iberius, (AD 14-37). Constructed by Gaulish sailors. Discovered in 1710 within the foundations of the cathedral of Notre-Dame de Paris, site of ancient Lutetia, the civitas capital of the Celtic Parisii. Now displayed in the Musee National du Moyen Age in Paris.
