Group portrait outside the entrance front of Westwood Manor, near Bradford-on-Avon, Wiltshire, c1860. Westwood Manor dates from the 15th century, but later owners changed the house considerably, removing wings, adding stair turrets and porches and inserting a floor into the open hall. The projecting remains of the east wing, visible to the right of the photograph, were removed shortly after this image was taken. From the late 18th century the house was occupied by the Tugwell family from Bath. The antiquarian Edgar Graham Lister purchased the property in 1911, and bequeathed it to the National Trust in 1956. Albumen print.
