Chi-Ro symbol with Alpha and Omega, Early Christian Sarcophagus, Rome, 4th century. The Chi Rho is one of the earliest forms of christogram, formed by superimposing the first two (capital) letters of the Greek word (Christos) in such a way the vertical stroke of the rho intersects the center of the chi.
