RAF Lymington, Hampshire, 1944. Opened before D-Day in 1944 it was a prototype for temporary landing fields used across France in WW2. The airfield was used by RAF, RCAF and US units including USAAF 50th Fighter Group, but was closed down in 1946. Photographed by the USAAF Photographer.
