Pyxis, 2nd century BC. Terracotta 'West Slope' ware pyxis (cosmetic box); the top is decorated with an as yet unexplained mythological scene: Dionysos supported by a satyr and kissed by a nymph (or Ariadne) in moulded relief on the convex slipover lid. Dimensions: height: 16 cm
