RAF Lymington, Hampshire, May 1944. Opened before D-Day in 1944 the airfield was a prototype for temporary landing fields used across France in World War 2. It was used by RAF, RCAF and US units including the USAAF's 50th Fighter Group, but was closed down in 1946.
