Eugène Rose de Beauharnais, Duke of Leuchtenberg (1781-1824) was the son of Alexandre de Beauharnais and Joséphine Tascher de la Pagerie, first wife of Napoleon Bonaparte. He commanded the Army of Italy and served from 1805 as viceroy of the new Kingdom of Italy under his stepfather Napoleon. Engraving after the painting by Henri Scheffer.
