Construction workers laying a hollow pot floor, 8 Lloyds Avenue, City of London, 1907. The 'hollow pot' system, known as the Kahn system, was invented by Julius Kahn in 1903 and was much used for flooring. This building was designed by Richard Norman Shaw for Associated Portland Cement Manufacturers.
