Item in Apsley House, London, from the Wellington Museum. Part of a dinner service which was given as a gift from the King of Prussia to the Duke of Wellington in 1819. Items of the Prussian Service show scenes of events in Wellington's life, in this case the Battle of Mallavelly (27 March 1799) between forces of the British East India Company and the Kingdom of Mysore during the Fourth Anglo-Mysore War, where the British were led by a youthful Arthur Wellesley.
