'Jane Seymour', 1536-1537, (1909). Jane Seymour (1509-1537), the third wife of King Henry VIII, was queen for less than two years. She died of puerperal fever, twelve days after giving birth to Henry's longed-for son, who later became Edward VI. Painting in the Kunsthistorisches Museum, Vienna.
