'Mercers' Chapel, as rebuilt after the fire', 1897. Chapel of the Worshipful Company of Mercers in the City of London. The second Hall and chapel, designed by Edward Jarman and John Oliver after the previous building was destroyed in the Great Fire of 1666, opened in May 1676. The Mercers' Company is the only City Livery Company to have its own private chapel. From Old and New London, Volume I, by Walter Thornbury.
