'Theatre, Portugal Street', (1881). The Lincoln's Inn Fields Theatre, originally called the Duke's Theatre, was used as a playhouse in the 17th and 18th centuries. The building shown here was constructed 1714-1728, and later became the Salopian China Warehouse. It was finally demolished in 1848.
